Stonington Sewer Lift Station.
The pictures below are of the lift station pump at Spruce Street in Stonington.
Someone has been flushing Fiber Shop Towels and Dish or Wash cloths. These items destroy the pumps which cost around $3,000.00 to fix and/or repair.
The village has been absorbing these costs and if they continue will have to raise the cost of the sewer rates to offset the loss.
Within the last 60 days the Village of Stonington has paid $2,200.00 in repairs to these pumps.
